Road studs you don't know

The road studs we are talking about mainly refer to road studs, also called protruding road signs. It is a traffic safety facility. The group should be installed in the middle of the road marking or in the middle of the double yellow line, and remind the driver to drive in the lane through its retroreflective performance.

We generally put cast aluminum road studs, plastic road studs, ceramic road studs, and glass ball studs into ordinary road studs. Let's introduce the road studs in detail by function classification.

1. Cast aluminum road studs

There are two types of cast aluminum road studs: full cast aluminum and cast aluminum shell. All-cast aluminum means that the shell is made of metal and has relatively high compressive strength. It is generally used at double yellow lines and is generally called all-aluminum road studs. Cast aluminum shell means that the shell is cast aluminum with filler inside. Such road studs are lower in cost than full cast aluminum, but at the same time their compressive strength is not so high. They are generally called cast aluminum road studs or cast aluminum filled road studs. 

2, plastic road studs

Plastic road studs are also divided into full plastic and plastic shells. All-plastic means that the shell is made of plastic injection molding, and the material may be ABS, AS+glass fiber, etc., and has high compressive strength. It is generally called all-plastic road stud. Plastic shell means that the shell is plastic and the interior is filled. The cost of such a road stud is lower than that of all plastic, but at the same time the compressive strength is not so high. It is generally called a plastic road stud or a plastic-filled road stud.

3, ceramic road studs

The material is cement ceramic, round, and it is used in early stage. It is fragile during transportation, so it is generally not recommended.

4, glass ball road stud

The material is glass, which was used in many early days, and the construction and installation were more difficult. Now it is used less. Generally not recommended.
